Five Projects We Are Supporting This Year
Once again this year, PCH is using the Christmas season to take responsibility and support people facing difficult situations. Five selected projects will receive our help through financial contributions as well as the voluntary commitment of our employees. Together, we want to create positive momentum and share some of the warmth of this time of year. We are pleased to introduce these projects to you.
The Wünschewagen – Fulfilling Last Wishes
The ASB Wünschewagen has a special mission: it enables people with severe, incurable illnesses to fulfil heartfelt wishes, whether a trip to a meaningful place, attending a concert or other unforgettable experiences. Since 2014, dedicated volunteers have accompanied these journeys and ensured reliable organisation and medical support. The project relies entirely on donations and voluntary work and creates precious moments that remain long in the memories of those affected and their families.

Sonnenstrahl e.V. Dresden
Sonnenstrahl e. V. Dresden has supported children and young people with cancer and their families since 1990, working closely with the University Hospital Dresden. The organisation offers a wide range of support, including creative therapies such as art and music, meetings for siblings, psychosocial assistance, relaxation and self-help programmes for parents. Experienced staff accompany families through every phase, support children as they return to school or nursery and provide practical help and emotional encouragement in difficult moments. Sonnenstrahl e. V. strengthens families, offers stability and fosters a sense of community in challenging times.

Toni Kroos Foundation
The Toni Kroos Foundation has supported families with seriously or chronically ill children since 2015, helping them through particularly demanding situations. It closes financial gaps when therapies, aids or special wishes are not covered by health insurance and ensures that every donation reaches the families directly. On 02 December, Giving Tuesday, Toni Kroos doubles every contribution and covers all administrative costs so that one hundred per cent of the funds can be used. PCH deliberately chose this day to make the greatest possible impact with our donation. By supporting therapies, providing equipment and fulfilling heartfelt wishes, the foundation eases families’ daily lives and creates moments of joy, hope and togetherness.

Magdeburger Förderkreis krebskranker Kinder e.V. – Elternhaus Foundation
Since 2006, the Elternhaus of the Förderkreis of the Children’s Clinic in Magdeburg has provided families with seriously ill children with a homely retreat directly beside the clinic. With comfortable rooms, an open kitchen, play areas and a Snoezelen room, a multisensory relaxation space, it offers space for relaxation and closeness. Where possible, children can spend time with their parents away from the clinical environment. There are no accommodation costs for accompanying family members, giving them support and relief during an already stressful time. PCH has taken on an annual room sponsorship to help secure this refuge for the families.

Märkisches Kinderdorf e.V.
Our employees are personally engaged in this initiative: as part of the Wunschstern campaign at the PCH Christmas tree, they fulfil individual wishes of the children, helping to create joy, a sense of security and new perspectives for a better future.
The Märkisches Kinderdorf in Ludwigsfelde has provided a safe home for children and young people in difficult life situations since 1991. Up to 45 young people live on a spacious, village-like site in residential groups, transitional housing and youth apartments. Play areas, sports facilities and educational activities support development, build community and strengthen self-confidence.
