Safety at lofty heights: Successful Petzl Expert Days 2025 in Leipzig

Leipzig was buzzing again at the end of June: aiming high – and doing so safely! PCH extended invitations to the Petzl Expert Days 2025 – a practical, two-day seminar on personal protective equipment for fall protection that attracted numerous participants from the trades, industry and height access technology sectors. Together with Petzl, MSA – The Safety Company and DuPont, a variety-packed programme was put together that took participants deep into the world of personal protective equipment for fall protection – of course in line with the requirements of DGUV regulations 112-198 and 199.

Practical training at the altitude training centre

Participants took part in realistic exercises at the modern altitude training centre run by the Trade Association for Raw Materials and the Chemical Industry (BG RCI). This not only provided theoretical knowledge, but also hands-on training in various scenarios: from the correct selection and use of equipment to measures against suspension trauma and rescue techniques from heights, depths and confined spaces. The participants completed a rescue course through several narrow spaces and containers, practised ascending using an electric winch and descending on a cableway from a 23-metre-high training tower, undertook active and passive rescue exercises on a lattice mast, and practised positioning and rescue techniques in the training tower.

Other exciting topics on the agenda included the determination by measurement of hazardous substances to ensure they are free from contamination by MSA and protection against dangerous particles and aerosols with solutions from DuPont. This ensured that all participants underwent thorough training – as required by law prior to first use and to be repeated at least every twelve months.

Positive feedback and an all-round successful event

But not only the technical content generated enthusiasm: The Petzl Expert Days 2025 were also characterised by an overall positive atmosphere, enthusiastic discussions and lively exchanges among the experts. Two nights‘ accommodation and a carefully planned catering service ensured that no one went hungry or tired.

The conclusion was unequivocal: The Petzl Expert Days 2025 delivered a successful mix of practical training and useful networking – and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
